Why ‘The pile’

‘The Pile’ Stemmed from the need to flip the term on its head. The Pile is a juxtaposition. The Pile was about utilizing that which was suffocating me and turning it into that which releases me.

the Pile + energy

=release

We may all have a form of ‘The Pile’ surrounding us. A density which keeps layering up, and out, and deeper and deeper. And with that Pile surrounding us, it is up to us to dig, sift and mine through it.

That was my choice during the pandemic lockdown, I could let it suffocate me, or start piece by piece. Digging, sifting, sewing, crying, creating and releasing.

And it worked, so as challenging as each pile is, I keep going.
